about

Creative training project

Our methodology is driven by the belief that we are all creative beings and that the solution to most of our problems lie within us. The project is inspired by and uses the butterfly art project (BAP) method where we use art therapeutic interventions to help kids coming from traumatized communities to develop their emotional well being and creativity by expressing themselves through art.

about

Feeding schemes

Our feeding scheme is our 1st project, started by the founders of the Mizpah organization mr & Mrs Benjamin and dora freeman where they would do weekly soup kitchens in the communities of kraaifontein, bonteheuwel and bishop lavis area. there main focus was to make sure that no child goes to school on an empty stomach as a hungry child struggles to learn, so every morning they would be up with pots of soup and kids as well as hungry adults could collect a warm meal before heading to school. This was a tradition that we continued with as we saw the positive impact it had on many kids from the community as they would line up to receive that 1st meal for the day with nothing but a look of gratitude on their face as they give thanks for what could potentially be their last meal for the day.

about

elderly support

Nelson Mandela once said "A society that does not value its older people denies its roots and endangers its future. let us strive to enhance their capacity to support themselves for as long as possible and when they cannot do so anymore, to care for them". This statement resonates with our organization considering South-african history and the impact that oppressive systems like apartheid had on the older generations, we have many elders living in extremely impoverished conditions, and for those who don't have family or children to support them, its important for us to provide them with the necessary support to survive. we do so by providing regular visitation to elders who don't have family members and giving them food parcels once a month and also having quarterly lunches with entertainment to those elders in our local old age homes.
